Investing in Youth means investment in the future. With this background, the Social Development Foundation (SDF) has focused on creating sustainable livelihoods for the youth, based on their aspirations and qualifications. SDF has adopted a novel market-linked approach for facilitating youth to get meaningful employment. |
| How SDF address the youth vulnerability: |
| Considering the youth problems, SDF has developed a Youth Development Cycle consisting of following steps focused on skill training and employment: |

IEC campaign through rally, video show, leaflet, poster, rural drama and folksong is being carried out for disseminating information on skill training, employment and other opportunities are available for them. |
- Motivation and Mobilization:

| Unemployed Youths have been motivated to organize themselves in small group, consisting of 10 to 15 members in each group. |
- Social Event and Competition:
|
| Different social events and competition like youth festival, games, competitions, issue- base cultural program and day observation have been organized. |
|
Counseling in various levels help to reduce the homesickness of unemployed youths. The counseling helps to create positive attitude among the youth towards employment. Four types of counseling have been undertaken to reduce the homesickness and create positive attitude towards employment as well as labor supply.
- Village wise youth- parents meeting.
- Cluster wise meeting with unemployed youths.
- Cluster level residential youth camp.
- Exposure visit to various employers/ work places/ industries.

The SDF is identifying suitable skill training/ employment scopes and contact with the training providers and potential employers to negotiate for available opportunities. SDF also sign MOU with various employers for job opportunities in different places. |

| To transfer appropriate knowledge and meaningful skill, SDF is linking unemployed youths with various potential training providers/ partners. |
|
SDF is creating self and wage employment opportunities through establishing linkage with potential organizations/ employers. To bridge potential employers and unemployed youths, SDF will arrange job fair. |
Achievement of SDF: |
| SDF has already mobilized more than 40 thousand unemployed youths in its project districts and among them, 10,000 youths have already been trained and employed in various places/ organizations like garment industries, security services, knitting & linking, welding, driving etc. SDF has also developed a youth database. |

Way Forward: |
SDF has developed a youth database available in the website for a match making role between the potential employers and unemployed youths in the project areas. All employers are welcome to communicate with SDF for recruiting skilled and unskilled labor force as they require. |
