About SIPP
Top
To assist the Government in its efforts to reduce poverty, SDF
is implementing the Social Investment Program Project (SIPP), a
pilot one, with the financial assistance of IDA and the
Government of Bangladesh.
At the end of the SIPP would be achieved by:

Setting in motion an inclusive demand identification and
follow-up process for social development needs which will
contribute to improved institutional development at the village
level;
b) Demonstrating cost effective and participatory means for
provision of basic services; and
c) Strengthening the SDF to identify emerging successful
procedures for social development to influence and assist in
scaling up.
Project implementation period : 4 years at a total cost of US$

Role of SDF in the implementation of SIPP
Top
As an apex organization, SDF will not be directly involved in
sub-project implementation activities. Rather it will work as a
gap filler, capacity builder, promoter, policy contributor,
balance maker/equalizer and optimizer.
Consistent with this mandate, SDF will be responsible for:
• Management of the funds and resources of SIPP
• Planning, co-ordination and supervision of all activities
funded under SIPP
• Monitoring the implementation of sub-projects
• Reporting to the financiers of the
project – Government, donors |
