The Social Development Foundation along with Palli Karma Shahayak Foundation (PKSF) is also implementing a flood restoration and recovery assistance program in the districts devastated by floods in 2007.

In response to the government’s request for rehabilitation and reconstruction assistance in the aftermath of the floods, the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank  came up with the US$25 million emergency program. The detailed design and operational procedures of this program has been prepared by SDF for quick rehabilitation of the flood-affected people, particularly the poor and vulnerable ones.

Some 250 flood-affected villages in Jamalpur and Gaibandha (100 in Gaibandha and 150 in Jamalpur) have been covered under the consolidation phase of SIPP. Besides, 100 non-SIPP villages will be covered. About 150,000 flood-affected families will be  benefited directly from the livelihood support activities.
