Workshop on Village Development Fund appraisal guideline held in Tangail

A 2-day workshop on Village Development Fund (VDF) appraisal guideline, organized by Social Development Foundation (SDF), was held at Elenga Resort in Tangail during July 16-17, 2008.

A total of 81 participants, including community members, SDF and World Bank officials attended in the workshop. On the basis of threadbare discussion a revised VDF appraisal guideline has been formulated to ensure easier access of the aspiring villages to the fund.

They also worked on four booklets on VDF, financial management, procurement and social accountability.                                

At the end of the workshop, a three-month long action plan was chalked out by the field staff.

World Bank Consultant Mr. C S Renjit facilitated the workshop.
