A three-member communication team of the World Bank visited a
SIPP village
in Melandah upazila of Jamalpur district on November 6, 2008 and
hoped that the activities of the poor communities would be
replicated elsewhere in the world.
The World Bank officials are Dale
Lautenbach, Communications Manager, Washington, Sudip Mazumder,
Communication officer, New Delhi and Mehrin A Mahbub, Public
Information Associate, WB Dhaka office.
They talked to the community members, appreciated their
activities and said that the World Bank has many things to learn
from the communities in Bangladesh.
Some 100 community members, mostly women, were present during
the views-exchange meeting at the local Gram Samiti office.
